Why Dr. Diveley Chose This Medicine

A Complete System of Medicine — Grounded in Clinical Reality

Dr. Diveley didn't choose acupuncture by accident. After studying the full landscape of healing systems available to a clinician, he made a deliberate choice: Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a deeply integrated model of the body, connecting structure, nervous system function, organ patterns, emotional stress, circulation, and pain. No other healing framework maps these relationships with the same clinical precision. What convinced him wasn't philosophy — it was pattern recognition. Over 30 years of hands-on practice, he watched modern healthcare quietly validate what TCM has always known: Dry needling is trigger point acupuncture — the same needle, the same anatomical targets, a different name. Cupping is a TCM therapy now adopted by physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists — because myofascial decompression through negative pressure works, and it always has. IASTM and Graston technique are gua sha — ancient tool-assisted soft tissue mobilization, rediscovered and rebranded under biomedical terminology. Fascial planes are jingjin — the same force transmission lines classical acupuncture has mapped for millennia. Trigger points and motor points are acupuncture points — a 2000 study in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation confirmed 92% anatomical correspondence. The methods were proven over thousands of years of clinical observation. The biomedical explanations came later — and in many cases, the science still hasn't fully caught up. That's not a weakness of acupuncture. It's a limitation of current measurement tools. Modern research continues to explore mechanisms that traditional acupuncture has described clinically for centuries, including pain modulation, circulation, fascial restriction, nervous system regulation, and stress physiology. Our Mission To deliver individualized, results-driven care that restores movement, eliminates pain, and supports human performance — beginning at our Windsor clinic at 624 Main St, with mobile concierge care available upon request. Every session is private, one-on-one, with undivided clinical attention from a practitioner who has spent 30 years refining this medicine at the highest levels of athletic competition.

The Clinical Biography

30 Years of Hands-On Practice. Collegiate and Professional Athletes. Advanced Acupuncture and Sports Medicine Training.

Dr. Geno Diveley, L.Ac., DACM is the founder of Acumotion Sports Therapy LLC. His career spans over 30 years of active clinical practice — hands-on clinical work with real patients at the highest levels of athletic performance. Dr. Geno's journey into healing began in the 1980s through the study of Asian therapeutic traditions, including Shiatsu, trigger point therapy, and other hands-on treatment approaches focused on restoring movement and relieving pain. His early experience working with manual therapies sparked a deeper interest in the relationship between musculoskeletal dysfunction, performance, and whole-body health. Seeking a more comprehensive understanding of healing, he pursued formal training in classical acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hawaii in 1995. His education continued through multiple acupuncture programs and advanced postgraduate studies, ultimately leading to licensure in California—home to some of the nation's most rigorous acupuncture standards. Today, Dr. Geno draws on more than 40 years of experience in healing arts and needling techniques, combining classical East Asian medicine with modern sports medicine principles to help active individuals recover from injury, improve performance, and move with confidence. Licensed in California under one of the nation's most rigorous acupuncture standards, Dr. Geno brings decades of advanced training and more than ten years of experience working with collegiate and professional athletes to Northern Colorado. His graduate and post-graduate training: • Master of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine — Dongguk University Los Angeles (DULA). • Transitional Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) — Pacific College of Health and Science. • Advanced Sports Medicine Acupuncture Training — completed under Matt Callison, founder of the Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMAC) Certification program. 240 hours. • Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist/Dry Needling (CMTPT/DN) — Myopain Seminars. Completed more than 100 hours of advanced training across multiple specialized modules in trigger point dry needling, pain science, and myofascial pain treatment. Dr. Geno brings advanced acupuncture, orthopedic needling, sports acupuncture, and myofascial trigger point needling (dry needling) training through Myopain Seminars to Northern Colorado. Based in Windsor, he serves patients throughout Fort Collins, Loveland, Timnath, Berthoud, and surrounding communities. 📰 **Featured Interview:** [VoyageDenver sat down with Dr. Diveley to talk about his path into sports acupuncture, his philosophy on healing, and what drives him as a clinician.
